There are many organic gardeners within the association
and consequently wildlife is abundant and enjoyed by everyone. The main
groups seen are:
BIRDS: Blackbirds, Rooks and Crows. Beautiful hunting Kestrels looking for mice and moles plus the ever present and opportunistic Wood Pigeon. There are also Wagtails, Ducks. Thrushes, Swallows and Pheasants. INSECTS: Bees, Wasps and Hornets together with many varieties of native Butterflies and Moths. Ants as you would expect together with the usual Black/Green and Whitefly. INVERTEBRATES: Grass snakes and slow worms ANIMALS: Rabbits, hares, moles, mice and hedgehogs. Sometimes deer are present on the allotments. |
