Big Green Month - As part of Transition Town Romsey's "Big Green Month", we will provide an Open Day on Sunday 20th May from 2pm - 5pm for people to visit our allotments and see what is involved in growing your own veg. Entrance will be via the Knatchbull Close gate. Note that limited car parking in the road is available and disabled access difficult because of the rough, uneven ground. We will show people the allotments and answer their questions.
Romsey Show 2011 - We had a very successful stand at the Romsey Show in September and won a Gold Medal; needless to say we were delighted. There was a lot of interest from visitors to the Show, not just about the prime fruit and vegetables on display (despite the tricky growing conditions this year) but also about the wonderful collection of jams, chutneys and cakes made with allotment produce, which were enthusiastically sampled.
In the Gallery section, there are some photographs of the Show stand. They were taken by Chris Neill-Griffin, who is studying to become a profesional photographer, and we are grateful to her for allowing us to use the photographs.
Waiting List - A number of plots became available over the last few months and all the people on our waiting list now have plots. Plots do become available from time to time throughout the year, so if you are interested in joining us on the allotments and are a resident of Romsey Town or Romsey Extra, do please apply through the website and hopefully the wait won't take too long.
Facebook Group - One of our members has set up a Facebook
Group called "Friends of Romsey Allotments". It is for us to
share news, advice, recipes and more. Just follow the link to go to our Facebook group and click on "Like"..
